Breaking Through the Industry
In 1967, good friends Peter Goetz and Gerry Fitzpatrick were feeling restless. Both had built strong careers in engineering and construction, but discovered there were new and exciting opportunities in these fields which could be pursued through the practice of law. With a leap of faith and dogged determination, Goetz and Fitzpatrick eschewed their burgeoning careers and opened the first iteration of Goetz Fitzpatrick LLP. During their initial years of practice, they navigated the often rough and tumble landscape of New York City construction with loyalty, honesty, accessibility, and commitment to their clients, the same principles that guide the firm to this day.
