Experience
Native New Yorker George Bruckman has practiced business and commercial law for 60 years, focusing on trusts and estates, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and commercial litigation. George has represented clients in various industries, including food manufacturing, distribution, construction and engineering, garment manufacturing, administrative law, asset-based lending, equipment leasing, textiles, cosmetics, and healthcare products in both federal and state courts nationwide. In addition, he provides professional fiduciary services, managing moderate-sized portfolios for testamentary and revocable management trusts.
George is an expert in taxation and multi-generational estate planning, helping his clients protect their high-end estates and advising them on how best to structure their assets. In addition, he provides administrative oversight at Goetz Fitzpatrick, applying his unprecedented breadth of legal knowledge to supervise strategy and serve as a mentor to the firm’s younger attorneys.
Over the course of his career, he has served as outside general counsel to the Dannon Company, Louis Sherry Ice Cream Company, Pollio Dairy Products Corporation, and Bali Blinds, and as regional counsel for Beatrice Foods.
Outside the courtroom, George is very involved with national and local philanthropic organizations as well as local community and religious associations. As president of both a residential cooperative board of directors and a homeowners association, he understands the daily demands of real estate ownership and operation. His work on the International Executive Council of Pi Lambda Phi, where he served as foundation president, and as the executive secretary of Beta Sigma Rho fraternity have earned him national recognition.
Before practicing law, George was a member of the United States Air Forces Reserves and Air National Guard, and was a government appeals agent for the Selective Service System, for which he received the government’s Meritorious Service Award as well as two presidential citations.
